Performance-based training and testing is one of the best ways to determine a participants’ successful comprehension of the learning objectives. Using performance-based training offers real world application and experiences to participants, with the opportunity for direct and specific feedback from the expert trainer.
Performance-based testing can be performed within the Grokworx Virtual Lab Environment:
- The content creator configures a lab in a “broken” state that participants must alter to fix it. This could include a variety of issues, including configuration, scripting or coding issues, design and implementation, or networking problems.
- The content creator creates an example real world scenario that the learner must fix within a real desktop/server/network environment.
- The expert trainer directs to participants to being the lab in the course
- Participants launch the lab and work on it at their own pace
- When complete, participants save their own personal version of the lab, and submit it for grading
- The expert trainer examines the work, grades it, and comments on the participants’ work
- If necessary, the expert trainer can provide comments and re-assign the lab back to the student for further work.
